Player Bio:
Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey became a fan favorite on the PGA Tour in 2011, and he’s excited to join Callaway as a Staff Pro for 2012. Gainey earned seven top-10s last season, including four top-3 finishes. He played a Callaway Golf Ball throughout the year and drew plenty of new fans with his humble attitude, homemade swing and preference for wearing two golf gloves when he plays. In October, Gainey earned his first career PGA Tour win at the McGladrey Classic with a RAZR Fit Driver and a HEX Black Tour Ball in the bag.
Gainey first gained national exposure as a contestant on Golf Channel’s “Big Break V” and later won “Big Break VII”. He developed the habit of wearing two gloves after playing baseball as a kid, and he made a living as an assembly line worker in South Carolina before he pursued a professional golf career. Gainey has competed on the Gateway Tour, Hooters Tour, Egolf Tarheel Tour, Nationwide Tour and the PGA Tour. He first competed on the PGA Tour in 2008 and played full-time on the Nationwide Tour in 2010. He won two Nationwide events that year, finished fourth on the final money list and secured his PGA Tour card.
