Los Angeles. Where the earth rumbles. The stars shine. And Odyssey flat-out dominated.
At the 2007 Nissan Open, an Odyssey putter was in the hands of the top three finishers. In third place was the White Hot XG Marxman™, featuring the latest innovation in putter alignment called the Hi–Def Alignment System. The two best players that weekend – Phil Mickelson and Charles Howell III – also played with the #1 Putter in Golf, battling all the way into sudden death on Sunday afternoon.
Lefty once again put his custom–made White Hot XG #9 to work, featuring multi–layer insert technology. While Howell III unveiled the soon–to–be–released, precision–milled Black Series putter with multi–material construction.
After posting an impressive final round 6–under 65, Charles Howell III forced the dramatic playoff with Mickelson, one of the hottest players on Tour coming off a runaway victory the week before. Three do–or–die holes later, Howell III was able to seal the match for his second career Tour win. On yet another Sunday afternoon, a champion raised an Odyssey putter in victory. This time, and for the first time ever, it was the Black Series. Visit OdysseyBlackSeries.com to learn more about this new putter line.
